Kids Operating Room founders recognised with honorary degrees

We're incredibly proud to share that our founders, Garreth Wood MBE and Nicola Wood MBE, have today both been awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degrees by the University of Dundee.
This is recognition that means a lot to us. The city of Dundee is home to our Centre for Global Operations - where our team ships entire paediatric operating rooms to hospitals across Africa, Asia, Latin America and beyond.
Since founding Kids Operating Room in Edinburgh, Garreth and Nicola have helped create capacity for over 800,000 children's operations across nearly 40 countries - 133 specialist paediatric operating rooms installed, surgeons trained in countries that previously had none, and expertise that stays in-country long after each project is complete.

Garreth said: "Children are still dying from conditions we can treat in minutes in this country. That is the injustice that drives everything we do. To receive this recognition from the University of Dundee means a great deal."
Nicola added: "The real story has always been about the children whose lives have been changed and the dedicated people working every day to make that happen. This is the city where so much of our work comes to life. We're proud of what we've built."
We're so grateful to Garreth and Nicola for everything they've built - and everything still to come.
